Miranda Bachheta MSW, RSW – She/Her
Hi there, I’m glad you’re here! I have been in the Social Services for more than a decade, working with various community agencies to provide wrap-around healthcare, including mental health services.
I am a firm believer in representation and catering to communities that are under-served in the field of mental health. That is why I am passionate about serving diverse clients including those who identify as Immigrant African, Asian, Middle-Eastern and other visible minorities. If you are struggling with balancing cultural needs with your individual preferences, effects of racism, family relationships, work stress, depression, anxiety, grief, please reach out. I address many challenges we encounter in everyday living.
I use a mixed approach when working with you including ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy), DBT (dialectical behaviour therapy skills) and EFT (emotion-focused therapy) and also weave in some MI (motivational interviewing) skills. Of course, it all depends on your concerns!
My Therapeutic Approach
My style is easy-going, with a warm and collaborative approach. Through an Africentric lens, where applicable, we will explore ways to help you overcome or manage the struggles you experience. Your story is unique and I will hold space for you to tell it as authentically as you like.
I believe that flexibility is the key to gaining greater confidence in how we approach life. If one thing does not work, try another. And, if I'm not the right fit, I'll recommend another therapist. Let's talk!
